Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Snifty ("Snifty", "we", "us") collects, uses and protects personal information when you visit snifty.co.za (the "Site") or contact us.

Snifty is operated by Christian van Wyk, based in Cape Town, South Africa. We are the responsible party for the personal information described here, as defined by South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).

Our apps for the monday.com marketplace each have their own privacy policy, published on that app's page. This policy covers the Site and general contact with us.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us. If you email us or send a message through the contact form, we receive your name, email address and anything you include in your message. If you ask to be told when an app launches, we receive your email address.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our hosting and network providers automatically log basic technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited and the date and time of your visit. We use this only to keep the Site secure and working.

Cookies. The Site does not use advertising or tracking cookies. To protect our forms from spam, Cloudflare Turnstile collects limited technical signals from your browser when you use them, solely to tell people and bots apart. If we add analytics in future, we will update this policy and, where required, ask for your consent first.

We do not knowingly collect special personal information (such as health, religious or biometric information), and we do not sell personal information.

2. How we use your information

We use personal information to:

• reply to your messages and provide support
• send the launch email you asked for, and nothing else, if you joined a launch list
• operate, secure and improve the Site
• comply with our legal obligations

We only use your information for these purposes, or for purposes compatible with them.

3. Who we share it with

We share personal information only with service providers that help us run the Site and our email, and only as much as they need:

• Vercel (website hosting)
• Cloudflare (domain, network and email routing, and Turnstile, which checks that form submissions come from a person rather than a bot)
• Resend (sending emails from the Site, and the launch list)
• Supabase (storing contact-form messages and launch-list sign-ups)
• Proton (email inbox)

Some of these providers process information outside South Africa. Where that happens, we rely on providers that are bound by data protection terms offering a level of protection comparable to POPIA.

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect our rights, users or the public.

4. How long we keep it

We keep emails and support conversations for as long as needed to help you and for a reasonable period afterwards, usually no more than 3 years, unless the law requires us to keep them longer. Launch-list addresses are deleted once the launch email has been sent, or straight away if you use the unsubscribe link in any of our emails. Technical logs are kept by our providers for limited periods according to their own policies.

5. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), two-factor authentication on our accounts and access limited to what is necessary. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live, including under POPIA and, for people in the European Union or United Kingdom, the GDPR, you may have the right to:

• ask what personal information we hold about you
• ask us to correct or delete it
• object to or restrict how we use it
• withdraw consent where we rely on consent

To make a request, email app@snifty.co.za. We may need to verify your identity before acting on it.

If you are in South Africa and are unhappy with how we handled your information, you can lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa) at inforegulator.org.za. If you are elsewhere, you can contact your local data protection authority.

7. Children

The Site and our apps are intended for businesses and are not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the effective date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be highlighted on the Site.
